Isothermal compressibility and effects of multibody molecular interactions in a strongly interacting ultracold Fermi gas
نویسندگان
چکیده
We theoretically investigate the isothermal compressibility $\kappa_{T}$ in normal state of an ultracold Fermi gas. Including pairing fluctuations, as well preformed-pair formations, within framework self-consistent $T$-matrix approximation (SCTMA), we evaluate temperature dependence this thermodynamic quantity over entire BCS (Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer)-BEC (Bose-Einstein condensation) crossover region. While $\kappa_T$ weak-coupling regime is dominated by atoms near surface, correlations between tightly bound Cooper-pair molecules are found to play crucial roles strong-coupling BEC regime. In latter region, besides a two-body molecular interaction, three-body one shown sizably affect superfluid phase transition temperature. Our results indicate that gas would provide unique opportunity study multi-body molecules.

We study collisions between two strongly interacting atomic Fermi gas clouds. We observe exotic nonlinear hydrodynamic behavior, distinguished by the formation of a very sharp and stable density peak as the clouds collide and subsequent evolution into a boxlike shape. We model the nonlinear dynamics of these collisions by using quasi-1D hydrodynamic equations. Our simulations of the time-depend...

Many-body fermion systems are important in many branches of physics, including condensed matter, nuclear, and now cold atom physics. In many cases, the interactions between fermions can be approximated by a contact interaction. A recent theoretical advance in the study of these systems is the derivation of a number of exact universal relations that are predicted to be valid for all interaction ...

Strongly interacting Fermi gases provide a clean and controllable laboratory system for modeling strong interparticle interactions between fermions in nature, from high temperature superconductors to neutron matter and quark-gluon plasmas. Model-independent thermodynamic measurements, which do not require theoretical models for calibrations, are very important for exploring this important syste...
